HUNDREDS OF STUDENTS COMPETE IN UNDERWATER ROBOTICS COMPETITION

Roughly 450 elementary and middle school children demonstrated their underwater robot engineering skills March 19, 2014 at the annual Utah Underwater Robotics competition. Hosted by BYU's Splash Lab out of the Ira A. Fulton College of Engineering and Technology, the competition at the Lehi Legacy Center featured students from 15 Utah schools who navigated self-built robots through underwater obstacle courses.

For the last four months BYU student engineers have been visiting local junior high schools to help students build robots. Reporter Brenna Donnelly has the story of Sea Perch, an engineering project that works underwater.
